On May 4, 2025, Alternative Foundation organized a one-day Strategic Planning Workshop at Jhamsikhel, Lalitpur, as part of its ongoing efforts to align its strategic direction with evolving national needs and global trends. The purpose of the workshop was to initiate a participatory review and revision of the Foundation’s Strategic Plan (2022–2026) to ensure it remains relevant in the face of emerging realities. The event gathered 30 participants, including board members, senior management, program and operations staff, thematic expert advisory group members, partners, and donors. This collaborative platform provided an opportunity for stakeholders to collectively reflect on the Foundation’s achievements, identify gaps, and envision strategic priorities for the next five years.

The workshop agenda was designed to foster open dialogue, encourage critical analysis, and promote shared ownership of the strategic process. Key sessions included a review of the Foundation’s current goals followed by an in-depth SWOT analysis, Strategic Vision Exercise: Revision of VMGO and Identifying Strategic Priorities (2025–2030), Identifying Thematic area and Activities and Feedback and suggestion from the experts, partners and participants on revision of the strategic Plan. Interactive group discussions using meta-cards allowed participants to voice their insights and propose actionable ideas, ensuring that diverse perspectives were captured to shape a robust strategic framework.

By the end of the workshop, the team successfully developed a working draft of the revised Strategic Plan, incorporating expert input and practical recommendations from participants. The outcomes highlighted the Foundation’s commitment to advancing scientific thinking, social innovation, and inclusive development. Moving forward, the Foundation will use the insights gathered during this workshop to guide its future programs, ensuring they remain impactful, forward-looking, and responsive to both national priorities and global transformations.
