On 10–11 July 2025, the Alternative Foundation convened a high-level Strategic Retreat at Hotel Himalayan Villa, Nagarkot, bringing together 23 participants, including board members, advisors, thematic leads, and core staff. Against the serene backdrop of Nagarkot’s hills, the retreat served as a catalyst for reflection, reinvention, and bold strategic transformation. The two-day event was designed to recalibrate the Foundation’s vision and mission, respond to Nepal’s rapidly evolving development landscape, and foster a culture of adaptive leadership and innovation.

The program featured a dynamic series of interactive sessions. Opened with “Strategic Reboot – Reinventing Relevance,” focusing on redefining the Foundation’s long-term purpose to align with shifting socio-political realities and future challenges. This was followed by “Mind Shift Mastery – Igniting Level 3 Thinking,” a session aimed at transforming leadership mindsets from transactional management to systems thinking and innovation. In “Smart Capital Catalyst – Fundraising Futures,” participants explored emerging fundraising trends, including CSR partnerships, digital platforms, and strategic donor engagement to secure sustainable resources.

The session, “Synergy Lab – Co-Creation for Collective Impact,” provided a collaborative space for teams to co-design the Foundation’s next strategic roadmap, emphasizing shared leadership and agile implementation. The retreat concluded with a “Momentum Circle – Commit to Transform,” where participants reflected on key insights, shared takeaways, and made personal and organizational commitments to action. The event successfully energized the Alternative Foundation’s leadership team to pursue transformative pathways, ensuring the organization remains at the forefront of social innovation, governance reform, and environmental justice in Nepal.
