16th Plan, SDG & LDC Graduation
The Alternative Foundation is committed to aligning its development efforts with Nepal’s national priorities and international commitments. It plays an active role in supporting the effective implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the 16th Periodic Plan of Nepal, and the country’s strategic roadmap for graduation from Least Developed Country (LDC) status. The Foundation serves as a catalyst for multi-stakeholder dialogue, knowledge sharing, and coordinated action to accelerate inclusive and sustainable development outcomes.
Through strategic policy engagement, research, and innovation, the Foundation supports evidence-based planning, monitoring, and evaluation of development programs at all levels. It also promotes partnerships between government, private sector, civil society, and development partners to achieve long-term development goals. This thematic area is led by Dr. Ram Kumar Phuyal, a former member of the National Planning Commission.
