Dr. Khilanath Sapkota

Dr. Sapkota was born in Okhaldhunga District, Nepal, and currently resides in Kathmandu. He earned his Ph.D. on “Practices of Right to Information in Local Development Governance.” He serves as a faculty of Tribhuvan University, Nepal, where he has been teaching in the Department of Rural Development since 2005.

Dr. Sapkota’s academic and research interests encompass development studies, international relations, political affairs, livelihoods, good governance, democracy, and the Right to Information (RTI), which is recognized as one of his areas of expertise. Over the years, he has authored numerous research articles, books, textbooks, and mini-research studies, contributing significantly to academic discourse and policy debates in Nepal.

In addition to his academic contributions, Dr. Sapkota has actively participated in leadership development and citizen awareness training programs, workshops, seminars, and research-related initiatives. He is also widely recognized as a dedicated social worker and development activist, committed to promoting good governance, civic engagement, and sustainable community development in Nepal.
